Secret Diary of a Call Girl 1x02

Time for the next episode! I’m watching it right after the first. Let’s begin!

Thoughts While Watching

  • This guy that took her to the sex party is so lame and weird. And full of himself! Bro, you really think she’s going to be “desperate” for you?
  • What a cockblock. What a lame cockblock. I’d ditch him in a heartbeat if I could have a chance with a celebrity I liked. That being said, there’s nothing special about this author. He kind of comes off as a creep too.
  • This whole party seems boring and not fun at all. Even without the lame guy. There’s nothing sexy about this balloon dance and, in my opinion, nothing sexy about being watched.
  • I’ve never used “personal reasons,” I always give them something. I usually say I’m sick or had car trouble.
  • I’ve had that happen before too. Lie to get out of something, then something real happens and ruins my plans anyway.
  • Jackie really was a nightmare from her very first scene, wasn’t she? I hate her.
  • Aww!!! That baby is so cute! I love those sucking sounds.
  • So Ben was pretty close with her whole family. That has to make the Jackie thing later on really awkward for everyone. He seems buddy buddy with Jackie’s husband in this scene and refers to himself as “Uncle Ben” to their child.
  • It kind of seems like her dad knows in this scene. I wonder if he had some idea.
  • I love Ben in the wig.
  • Who sleeps naked? Is that normal? I’d feel weird…and cold.

Final Thoughts

Not one of my favorite episodes, but I liked the parts with Ben and her family. The sex party scenes were boring to me though. Time for the next one!

Robin Hood 1x12 "The Return of the King"

Woo! We made it to the first half of the two part season one finale! These next two episodes are going to be an emotional rollercoaster, but a fun one! Djaq and Marian both get to absolutely shine in this episode too, which is fantastic (I think this episode is only the second or third instance in the entire show so far that passes the Bechdel Test, which isn't great...), and everyone involved in the cave scenes gets to really show off their acting abilities here in a big way. I'm excited for this one, so let's begin! Thoughts While Watching: Guy looks so awkward holding that bird. You don't feed your birds?! I'm calling PETA! The cave doesn't seem that bad. I'd rather be in there than out in the rain. "Bats are rats, rats with wings." This whole scene is great. I love Much. I didn't know that fact about bats was something they would've known back then. Makes sense that Djaq would be the one to know it. Djaq knows everything. ...

Robin Hood 1x01 "Will You Tolerate This?"

Alright, here we go! One of my all time favorite shows, probably tied with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel or just slightly below them in the list (but definitely in my Top 3). I've been a Robin Hood fan since the very first episode first aired on BBC America when I was sixteen years old. For reference, I'll be turning thirty this month. I've rewatched this show, especially the first two seasons, more times than I can count. Plenty has changed in my life since I first saw this episode, so this will be fun! Let's get into it. Thoughts While Watching: I love that Allan is the first character we see. Joe Armstrong is such a cutie. Heartbreaking, in hindsight, how this scene sort of mirrors Allan's last scene though. "My wife expects a baby!" Oh, Allan...  These guards are way too excited about being able to mutilate people. Sadistic creeps. How long did it take Robin and Much to set up this string tied to the branches system? It's not like ...

Robin Hood 3x04 "Sins of the Father"

I took about a two month break from my rewatch. Since I last reviewed an episode I've been working on a Robin Hood fanfic (the rough draft is finished and I'm editing now and trying to work up the courage to post it), rewatching random episodes of other shows (kinda on a Charmed kick lately), and started a new rewatch of Robin Hood with a fan group I'm in. I've also, of course, been dealing with real life. I know quarantine is over for most people, but not my family! I'll still be out of work until at least the end of August (I work in a school and while I absolutely love my job, I'm honestly considering looking for a new one because I'm really concerned about the uncertainty of the upcoming school year) and my husband is still mostly working from home. At least that means I still have time to watch my shows! I think another reason the rewatch has been going so much slower for season three is that my heart is really just not in it. I love seasons one and two...
