Secret Diary of a Call Girl 2x03

I really like this episode! I've always liked the part where the wife confronts her, which is definitely something to worry about in this job. Let's begin!

Secret Diary of a Call Girl: Season 2 Episode 3 - TV on Google Play

Thoughts While Watching

  • Interesting how by 2x03 she’s still “not sure” about Alex but I’m pretty sure two episodes later she’s having a total meltdown over him.
  • Nobody knows the rules about who pays. You just wing it. I always brought enough money to cover myself and offered to split if he didn’t make the move, but if he did, I let him pay.
  • She’s being honest later when she says he told her that his name was Tony and that he wasn’t married. She really didn’t know. Not that it would have stopped her because we know it wouldn’t have, but she was still honest.
  • This is taking an awfully long time. I mean...not ridiculously long, but still seems miserable.
  • I mean, okay. So the wife comes in screaming accusations and Hannah has no idea who she’s talking about. The wife says her husband’s name is Matt and that he left five minutes ago and Hannah says that he told her his name was Tony. Then the wife asks if she knew he was married and she said no. And the wife agrees that she believes that Matt lied to her about his name and marital status. Sooo….problem solved? I mean, at that point, if I were the wife, I would realize that the issue is 100% on the husband because he was lying to them both. If she really weren’t an escort, if she really was just a girlfriend or a fling of his, that would mean he was deceiving them both and cheating on them both. The other woman isn’t the enemy, especially in situations where he lied to her too. The other woman didn’t break any vows and in cases like these, she didn’t break any sort of moral code either. If Hannah really was just his regular sidepiece, she’d be a victim in this, just like the wife.
  • Now the wife is screaming about how her neighbors probably already know that she “wrecks people’s marriages.” Um…didn’t you JUST determine that she did NOT know that he was married or even his real name? Seriously, lady. Your issue is with your husband.
  • Now she’s accusing them of having an affair. Okay, so she just claimed to believe the story but doesn’t actually believe it? Did she think that Hannah just made up the name Tony on the spot? For once, Hannah isn’t actually lying. Again, I know it would have made absolutely no difference to her if she knew that he was married, it’s just the fact that she didn’t and for all this woman knows, she could have been deceived and cheated on too.
  • “What were you doing if you weren’t having sex?” Hannah never said they weren’t having sex, just that it wasn’t an “affair” and that she didn’t know that Matt was his real name or that they were married. This lady seriously needs to go home and attack the right person.
  • I would never act like this. I mean, if the “other woman” KNEW that my husband was married, then maybe. Especially if it was someone that I personally knew too. But some random stranger that my husband lied to so he could cheat with her? Never. I’d be like, “so, are you up for getting some revenge with me?”
  • “Yes, you said it: he’s MY husband…Then what are you doing with him?!” Lady, pay attention! She already told you that she didn’t know he was married before you came barreling into her home screaming like a banshee. GO HOME.
  • Here’s where I think Hannah really screwed up. There was NO REASON to tell this woman that she’s an escort or that it was a paid arrangement. I would have stuck to my story, especially since it’s the truth. “Look, I had no idea he was married. He told me he was single. I didn’t even know that Tony wasn’t his real name. He never told me his name was Matt. He lied to both of us. I’m really sorry that he did this and that this happened to you, but I had nothing to do with it. He lied to me too. I won’t see him anymore. Please just go and talk to him about it.” Period. End of discussion. I’d just keep saying it until she left. Instead, now she has a crazy woman who might be vengeful (she’s not, but Hannah doesn’t know that) who knows she’s an escort and knows where she lives which means she might be able to figure out her real name. Genius.
  • This woman is so overdramatic. Gagging and puking over finding out your husband slept with an escort? Seriously? And knocking stuff over and breaking it? I know it was an accident, but seriously.
  • Why did Hannah say “thanks for calling” instead of “hey, I gotta go, I’ll call you back.” Because it just makes her look shady. Alex has to think she's nuts.
  • I love how anytime there’s someone in trouble, Hannah drops everything. Even with this woman screaming at her and everything else, she doesn’t hesitate.
  • Okay...
    • Wife: Is he a transvestite?
    • Hannah: Why would you think that?
    • Wife: His dad’s a vicar.
  • “What the hell would you know? Do prostitutes even have relationships?” Um, yeah, lady. What the hell do you know about any of it? “Have you got a boyfriend?” Yeah, lady. She does. Shut up.
  • Now their conversation is actually turning friendly, which is nice. It’s like she’s finally realizing that her issue is with her husband.
  • The butt plug scene is funny though.
  • Bambi’s adorable!
  • The scene with Hannah and Ben is cute too. I wonder if he’s right. Do most of the guys who visit escorts have wives or are most single? I doubt you could ever get an accurate study or poll on this and even if you ask escorts, they could easily have been lied to, just as Hannah was.
  • She’s just extra awkward with Alex. She could have made up an excuse for why she had to go other than just saying bye and hanging up.
  • This guy clearly took the girlfriend experience too far. He’s definitely acting like she’s his real girlfriend.
  • I don’t see why she would even try to continue seeing him. The chance of everything going to hell is too high now. Self-preservation should kick in, I’d kick him out. This is the second time I think she really screwed this up. At least she came to her senses eventually. Honestly, he seems like an absolutely miserable client to have anyway. So boring and, in my opinion, harder work than he's worth.
  • That’s a really nice apartment. Or house. I can’t tell. I love it though.
  • Alex is a bit pushy, both in this scene and at the hotel when she returned his stuff, but I still like him.

Final Thoughts

I've been in Hannah's situation (minus the escorting) and it was a nightmare, but it was fun to watch someone else go through it. I wasn't as nice about it as Hannah was though. I think she'd be well within her rights to freak out at the woman right back, she's attacking the wrong person. My situation was more complicated though. Besides, we got some cute Bambi moments, some cute Hannah/Alex moments, and a couple of great Hannah/Ben scenes, so all in all, it was a great episode!

Robin Hood 2x13 "We Are Robin Hood!"

Here we are...at the season two finale. It happened too fast! The first two seasons of this show are absolutely amazing and wonderful, but then this episode is the turning point. The show made two horrible mistakes here and it will never recover from them in the third and final season. The third season is missing all of the magic that made the first two seasons so great. It almost feels like a different show in some ways, in my opinion anyway. As much as I would've loved to stop before the season two two-part finale and just go back to the beginning again, the rewatch must go on. So here we go... Warning: This post randomly includes two bullet points with Buffy the Vampire Slayer spoilers. I give a spoiler alert right before I go into my points (I'm comparing similar aspects between the two shows), but be cautious if you haven't seen/finished Buffy, plan to watch Buffy, and you're the type of person whose eyes wander around the page. Robin Hood 1x05 "Turk Flu"

It's Djaq's first episode!!! Yay! I've been looking forward to this! Djaq is my absolute favorite character in the show. I don't think this needs much of a lengthy introduction and I'm really eager to get started and see Djaq, so let's just get right into it! Thoughts While Watching: The episode opens with some kind of catastrophe at the Treeton Mine, people are dead, and Guy shows up to terrorize the villagers. This annoying kid Rowan is talking to his father and tells him to stand up to the sheriff. Every time a character on this show tells their father to stand up to the sheriff, the father dies. Every. Time. It happens to Rowan's dad, it happens to Will's dad, and it happens to Marian's dad.  Rowan's dad tells Guy that the miners are going on strike, Guy informs the sheriff of this who then taunts him that he shouldn't be giving them choices, and Guy kills him. That's "good man" Guy of Gisborne for you. The sherif...

Robin Hood 2x10 "Walkabout"

We're getting down to the last couple of episodes of the show's golden age before it starts spiraling downward and out of control and it's making me sad just thinking about it...but we're not there yet! We still have a couple great episodes to go! In this one we have definitive proof that the sheriff was not lying about his pact with Prince John because all of Nottingham is about to be destroyed when the sheriff decides to go sleepwalking and is missing on the designated check-in day. This is a fun one, so let's get into it. Thoughts While Watching: We open with a confusing but kind of hilarious scene where the sheriff is having a nightmare about Robin stealing the Pact, he keeps mumbling about it in his sleep, and he wakes up in the middle of the forest in his black silk pjs. Guy shows up at the castle and finds Prince John's envoy there who explains that he meets with the sheriff every other Thursday to make sure he's still okay, but today he'...
